Trunnell Law, LLC Defends High School Senior Who Accidently Brought a Shotgun to School

Maryland's strict zero tolerance laws for weapons resulted in the expulsion of a high school senior who has been considered a well-behaved individual. The 18-year old student, Patrick Bryan Mitchell, returned from a hunting trip and forgot to take his shotgun out of his vehicle. This accidental action resulted in his arrest and mugshot. This case has received extensive attention from the media.

The defendant's punishments included being barred from possessing a gun for one year, missing his senior season of lacrosse, missing several weeks of school, and losing the opportunity to receive an athletic scholarship to Pfeiffer College. Because of his devotion to his education, he enrolled in online classes to keep up with his studies.

Attorney Richard R. Trunnell from Trunnell Law, LLC, defended the client in this serious and important case. Originally, Patrick was not permitted to attend graduation and prom, which was his main request. With the involvement of Trunnell Law, LLC, the case was appealed and Patrick was permitted to walk in graduation with his senior class.

Even in this unfortunate circumstance where a forgetful mistake resulted in serious repercussions, the defendant required the attentive legal guidance of a knowledgeable attorney. Mr. Trunnell was able to appeal the client's case and to provide him a sense of hope for the future.
